RUMOR: JD Martinez to Mets Close To Finished

Fun first post for me lol. With the Red Sox having one of the worst Julys in recent memory, the team has begun dealing some of their veteran players with expiring contracts. Seemingly the first to go is JD Martinez and it’s to the NY Mets.

The Mets had been in talks with the Nationals to see what the price for Soto would be. However, the price for Soto coupled with the Nationals not wanting to trade within their division it seemed to fade away.

Martinez then became the Mets top target. Being a rental the price would be significantly lower then Soto. Sox want Matt Allan and at least two other prospects, one being an outfielder. Deal expected to be announced tonight or tomorrow morning once at least one other player is agreed upon.
