Top 100 Hitter Rankings #70-61

Updated: Mar 13

Important to note that my rankings are centered around Roto style leagues. I have made by rankings by compiling the average of some of the most popular websites and then moving certain players up and down based on my own outlook. Still not checking my grammar. I also haven't figured out copyright on photos so here is a stock image.

#70 Will Smith(C) Los Angeles Dodgers

The catcher position for many has become a streaming position when it comes to fantasy. Will Smith is a guy who you will get over 120 games from and he will hit you some home runs. He's fine. Good value for a catcher, on a good team, maybe will get more games with universal DH? He will be over 20 home runs and 70 RBIs.

2021 Stats: AVG .258/ HR 25/ RBIs 76/ OPS .860

2022 Prediction: AVG .260/ HR 21/ RBIs 70/ OPS .840

#69 Tommy Edman(IF/OF) St. Louis Cardinals

Stolen bases. If you need them and don't want to get murdered in AVG Edman can be that guy. However, his OPS will drag down your team. Fair trade off for the points you will gain in the stolen bases category. Deepening on STL signings in FA there is a chance that Edman gets less AB which would move him back. But, for right now this is a fair spot for him.

2021 Stats: AVG .262/ HR 11/ RBIs 56/ OPS .695/ SB 30

2022 Prediction: AVG .258/ HR 10/ RBIs 55/ OPS .678/ SB 25

#68 Austin Meadows(OF) Tampa Bay Rays

Throw away his COVID season and Meadows has put together two very solid seasons. His average took a major hit last year ocompared to his '19 season though. Most likely playing a role in the decision by the Rays to throw out feelers and show their willingness to trade him. I think this season will be more akin to that '19 season with the exception of going over double digit steals.

2021 Stats: AVG .234/ HR 27/ RBIs 106/ OPS .772

2022 Prediction: AVG .260/ HR 25/ RBIs 85/ OPS .815

#67 Jazz Chisholm Jr(2B/SS)

People are really high on Chisholm, and yes he has SPEED and YOUTH. Two of my favorite things. However, he's on a garbage team. He gets caught stealing a lot which is frustrating, his average and OPS will bring your team down. His biggest + is the steals but even than I would rather have say Edman this year on my team. Chisholm is at a position with less depth than outfield however which is how he ends up here.

2021 Stats: AVG .248/ HR 18/ RBIs 53/ OPS .728/ SB 23

2022 Prediction AVG .240/ HR 15/ RBIs 50/ OPS .720/ SB 18

#66 Mitch Haniger(OF) Seattle Mariners

No extension from the Mariners for Haniger. The young stars coming up are clearly the cause of that. We believe, as many do, that Julio Rodriguez will be a star and quick. Haniger will be playing for his future and we believe that he will 1. Be with the Mariners and 2. Get traded in June. Mariners will want to get value for his power as he is not in their long term plans and has injury history. Would not be surprised if a team like the Red Sox, if they are on a run, make a trade for him as a rental.

2021 Stats: AVG .253/ HR 39/ RBIs 100/ OPS .804

2022 Prediction: AVG .245/ HR 30/ RBIs 86/ OPS .790

#65 Nelson Cruz(DH) Free Agent

Will be signing with a National League team by the end of this weekend. Will hit you 30 HRs. Will take up your utility slot. Not for me.

2021 Stats: AVG .265/ HR 32/ RBIs 86/ OPS .832

2022 Prediction: AVG .257/ HR 30/ RBIs 79/ OPS .820

#64 Kris Bryant(3B/LF) Free Agent

Both Rizzo and Bryant left the Cubs, went to a new team, and did kind of what they were doing on the Cubs anyway. New scenery did not do much for Bryant. Major rumor right now is that the Phillies will make a run for him. Harper is likely pushing hard for this. I think it would be a good fit for Bryant. It looks like it will be either the Phillies of the Mariners. Either are fine with me and don't effect my ranking or prediction.

2021 Stats: AVG .265/ HR 25/ RBIs 73/ OPS .835

2022 Prediction AVG .260/ HR 22/ RBIs 76/ OPS .820

#63 Franmil Reyes(DH/RF) Cleveland Guardians

Got to hope that Reyes is given OF eligibility in your league this year. Over 400 of his 466 PA were at the DH position. He kind of becomes a Nelson Cruz like pick if that's the case. Way younger of course but the numbers end up the same. If he has OF eligibility then I would keep this ranking here. If he is just DH he drops back at least three spots. Cruz will go way later so pick value is there. Reyes with his youth might go too early for my liking.

2021 Stats: AVG .254/ HR 30/ RBIs 85/ OPS .846

2022 Prediction: AVG .260/ HR 26/ RBIs 80/ OPS .820

#62 Jared Walsh(1B/OF) Los Angeles Angels

Walsh needs to get over 90 RBIs to justify this spot. Period. If it's less then again he should be further back. He's 28 and has had only one good season. Rolling the dice on this but I think he will get there.

2021 Stats: AVG .277/ HR 29/ RBIs 98/ OPS .850

2022 Prediction: AVG .270/ HR 27/ RBIs 91/ OPS .820

#61 Cody Bellinger(OF/1B) Los Angeles Dodgers

Many websites have Bellinger as the comeback player of the year. Um yeah there isn't really a high bar that he needs to pass. I don't really care about the analytics that are being put out about launch angle and all that garbage. Dude, had a awful COVID year(so did half the league) and then spent half of last year being injured. Very simple, its a roll of the dice if he's healthy good job you got a guy at a great price. If his injuries linger he's a bust again. I think he's back. Good luck

2021 Stats: AVG .165/ HR 10/ RBIs 36/ OPS .542

2022 Prediciton: AVG. 284/ HR 22/ RBIs 75/ OPS .820
