Yankees Survive to See Another Day
The fans in the Bronx are still the WORST
At least the Yankees took one game in this lopsided series! Honestly, I am shocked they even took a game after how they have played so far against Los Angeles. The Yankees have found themselves in a dire situation as they are now down 3-1 to the Dodgers after four games into the 2024 World Series. The bats have been colder than a winter's day in Antarctica. The pitching has done a decent job and did so again tonight. New York’s bats finally had themselves a night and were able to capitalize and force a Game 5.
Game 4 was lowkey crazy. Freddie Freeman launched another bomb in the 1st inning and took the lead almost immediately for the Dodgers. Freeman set a record with his home run as he has now hit a home run in 6th straight World Series games, dating back to his time with Atlanta.
This was followed by one of the most embarrassing and disrespectful moments from fans I have ever seen! If you haven’t heard yet two Yankee fans (pictured above) were escorted from the game as they blatantly interfered with a pop-out down the right-field line and literally tried to rip the ball out of Mookie Betts's glove. As a Yankee fan, I am embarrassed and apologize for the actions of those two hooligans. I think it is safe to say they have attended their last ball game in Yankee Stadium.
A 3rd-inning grand slam from Anthony Volpe is what really sparked this 11-run surge from the Yankee lineup. For the first time in this series, the Yankees showed signs of life. I know, I know they were one out away from taking Game 1. If they took Game 1 we would be having a much different conversation but they didn’t. Since that loss, the Dodgers have looked like a Varsity team scrimmaging against the JV. That is until tonight. The Yankees looked much improved in Game 4.Â
The Bronx Bombers bats woke up and now live to see another day. Maybe getting another shot with Cole on the mound can turn this series around. Unlikely but hey, you never know!
