I wanted to take a look at some of baseball’s Top Prospects and see how they did this Spring. I know that Spring Training stats don’t necessarily equate to success during the regular season, but it is still fun to look at them.
I had no real plan going into this. I just wanted to scroll down the Top 20 and pick some popular names and players that I have in my dynasty leagues. What I found was very much a mixed bag. These players get so few at-bats to really amount to anything significant. Their cumulative batting average is .216, but their OPS is a slightly more impressive .769.
You are probably going to notice I only had one pitcher on here. I initially had five. In our Skippers View WAR Draft, Brett has BANNED pitchers. The idea is everyone picks ten players, and whoever has the most cumulative WAR wins. In the second round, I selected Tarik Skubal. I was quickly laughed at as I did not know that we could not have pitchers. I would have checked the list of players taken, but there was none. So, following Brett’s views, I removed the pitchers from this list. However, I kept Andrew Painter in as a silent protest and a reminder to never give in to an authoritarian.
Alright, here are the players!
