As many of you know, I have been applying to be a BBWAA writer for a few years now. On paper, I meet the qualifications as laid out in their bylaws. However, as of this writing, I am still just a regular old writer for TSV. Totally not bitter at all.
Part of being a BBWAA member is voting for the major MLB awards. Because I can not do that, I figured we would just do our own vote instead.
I want to see how our little corner of the baseball world would hand out this year’s awards. So we’re putting everyone to task with the 2026 TSV Fan Awards ballot.
Vote in the 2026 TSV Fan Awards
Voting closes Sunday, November 8, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
We’re voting for MVP, Cy Young, Rookie of the Year, and Manager of the Year, with separate American League and National League picks for each. That’s eight awards.
How to Vote
Pick one candidate in each category you want to vote on. If you’re unsure about a race, skip it.
If your pick isn’t listed, choose “Other” and write them in. Our suggested names shouldn’t keep you from voting for the player or manager you think deserves it.
Feel free to keep take the postseason into account in your voting. I totally think it should be, anyway, so go at it, baby.
Make Your Case
Over the next several days, we’ll talk through the categories on X. Tell us your reasoning for your votes there, in the comments there, or here on this blog. If someone is being overlooked, tell us why, and point to the part of their season you think people are missing.
The ballot also includes an optional question at the end: what other award should TSV give out, and who should win it? If you want to recognize a player, manager, or performance beyond these eight categories, put it there.
Once you’ve voted, send the ballot to a friend or your baseball group chat. I’d like to hear from people who follow different teams. Your friend who disagrees with every one of your picks should probably fill it out, too.
Get your picks in by Sunday, November 8, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
