The 15 Hottest Hitters In Major League Baseball
Standout hitters you need to be watching
I wanted to take time to highlight some of the best players in Major League Baseball over the last 30 days! For most players on this list, the sample size is 21-24 games, and I have only included qualified players within that timeframe.
1. Kyle Stowers
There has not been a more productive player in baseball over the last month than Stowers. He leads in wRC+ (261), fWAR (2.0), ISO (.526), OBP (.457), and SLG% (.897). Over that span, he has a 93.3 MPH AVG EV, 58.2% Hard-Hit%, and an insane 30.9% Barrel% (1st).
2. Nick Kurtz
The future of the 1B position is right in front of us! Kurtz, over his last 23 games, has 9 HR, 24 RBI, a .337/.433/.795 slashline, and a 229 wRC+. His 95.5 MPH AVG EV is 2nd only to Carlos Correa, and he's also rocking a 60.4% Hard-Hit% and 24.5% Barrel%.
3. George Springer
The 35-year-old is walking as much as he is striking out over the last month (10.6%), plus he has 7 HR, 19 R, 22 RBI, hitting .361 with a 198 wRC+. He ranks 3rd in BA, 5th in OBP, and 3rd in wRC+ over this span while accumulating 1.2 fWAR (12th). Impressive!
4. Corey Seager
Seager, over his last 106 PA, might be the least talked-about player on this list. He has 6 HR, 18 RBI, a .326/.443/.616 slashline, a 191 wRC+, and has an unbelievable 15.1% BB%. His 62.5% Hard-Hit% is 2nd only to Rafael Devers, and he has a .445 wOBA (6th).
5. Michael Busch
Busch has been having a fantastic season in Chicago! Over his last 88 PA, he ranks 5th in wRC+ (189), has 8 HR, .325 ISO, and a 1.036 OPS, which ranks 9th in Major League Baseball over that span. He also has a 20.0% Barrel%, 109.6 MPH Max EV, and .650 SLG%.
6. Salvador Perez
Perez just had a multi-HR game and should have a massive 2nd half of the season. Over his last 94 PA, the veteran has 9 HR, 21 RBI, with a 189 wRC+. His 12.8% K% and 1.075 OPS, which is 4th in this span, only signal how locked in at the plate he currently is.
7. Eugenio Suárez
The #1 target at this year's deadline hasn't cooled down in the slightest. He has 5 HR in his last three games and has 11 over his last 94 PA, which is the most in Major League Baseball... He ranks 7th in wRC+ (189) while posting a .277/.351/.723 slashline.
8. Byron Buxton
The baseball world is finally seeing a healthy Buxton, and he certainly hasn't disappointed. Over his last 96 PA, he has 8 HR, 24 R, 13 RBI, 5 SB, a .326/.375/.674 slashline, with a .440 wOBA, and 186 wRC+. His 1.5 fWAR over that span would be the 4th in MLB.
9. Willy Adames
Adames is starting to find it! Over his last 24 games, he has 7 HR, 17 R, 20 RBI, a .314/.381/.640 slashline with a .429 wOBA, and 183 wRC+. His 7 HR are the most among SS, and his 183 wRC+ is 2nd only to Corey Seager. His 1.4 fWAR is the 6th best in MLB.
10. Caleb Durbin
While he does have the power numbers that you want to see, he has the 6th lowest K% at 7.8% and his batting average of .388 over the last month is the best in Major League Baseball. His 182 wRC+ is higher than Aaron Judge's. The 25-year-old rookie is balling.
11. Aaron Judge
Aaron Judge is putting together another historic season, and over his last 109 PA, nothing has changed. He has 9 HR, 22 R, 21 RBI, and a 181 wRC+. Judge is getting walked 19.3% of the time, which is 2nd in baseball, to only Mike Trout's 22.2%. He's a beast.
12. Ceddanne Rafaela
He is emerging as one of the best young talents in baseball. While he hasn't been walking, his 12.4% K% is very encouraging, going along with a .326/.348/.674 slashline, 7 HR, 20 RBI, and a 176 wRC+ over his last 89 PA. The contract is a steal for Boston.
13. Randy Arozarena
Randy should have a career year with the Mariners, and a lot of it has to do with his last 112 PA. He has an insane 10 HR and 23 RBI while posting a .994 OPS and 174 wRC+, both of which are the 13th highest marks in Major League Baseball. He's on fire!
14. Kyle Schwarber
Schwarber is still on pace to hit 50 HR this year while putting up the highest total fWAR season of his career. Over his last 102 PA, he has 9 HR, 15 R, 20 RBI, while posting a very impressive 12.7% BB% and 173 wRC+. His 27.8% Barrel% is 4th over that time.
15. Cody Bellinger
Cody, outside of the first month of the season, has been an excellent piece for the Yankees. Over his last 96 PA, he has a low K% at 10.4% to go along with a .340/.354/.628 slashline and clubbing 7 HR while driving in 19. His 1.3 fWAR is 8th in that span.
