SOURCES: Juan Soto to Padres trade talks break down.

Sources close to The Skipper’s View have said that talks between the Padres and Nationals on a potential Soto trade have broken down. Nationals do not deem the package of Abrams, Hassell, and Morejon to be enough for Soto. The Cardinals are rumored to have put together a more complete package and the Nationals are currently leaning towards accepting that deal.

The Dodgers, Mets, and Rangers are still inquiring but most believe they will not end up officially sending an offer.

The Mariners giving up four good prospects for Castillo may have played a role in the Nationals now looking for a better deal.
