MLB Insider Matt Rosen’s quote of the series.
“Red Sox learned today that if they score runs, they’ll win ballgames. Maybe we do that more?”
Overall Takeaway
This series was very boring. I think everything is just more depressing in Minnesota. Also, I don’t like any of the players on the Twins if we are being honest. Mainly Carlos Correa who is one of the most overrated players of this generation. Go Sox.
Game 1: Twins 5-2
Game 2: Twins 3-1
Game 3: Red Sox 9-2
What I Loved
Tyler O’Neill
Has same WRC+ as Shohei Ohtani (Alright, he did as of Saturday morning, but this sounds good so go with it.)
Reese McGuire Stealing A Bag
Rafaela has one more stolen bag than Reese this year. Let that sink in.
Cooper Criswell
He has gone from a 5.73 ERA last year to a 1.74 ERA this year. Not dramatic to say that he is a big part of this team staying above .500.
Vaughn Grissom
Yeah, he only got one hit, but it was a big one. Have to be excited for some new blood on the field.
Rafael Devers
I said in my last review that I need a Rafael Devers home run BAD. He delivered
Now is batting .292 with a .917 OPS. Puts him in the Top 20 for OPS in the league. He’s back.
Red Sox Avoid Sweep
They have only been swept once this season. That was to the Orioles a few weeks back. It was also the series that ended Jackson Holliday’s confidence (ATM), so the Red Sox got a win there.
What I Was "Mid" About
The Offense
Four runs from Thursday-Saturday is not sustainable. Learned to play again on Sunday.
Cora Pushing Houck
This could also be Houck/Bailey saying he could go deeper on Friday. However, he didn’t look like he did when he had that complete game gem. Him going six innings consistently is good enough for me. Don’t get cute Cora!
What I Didn't Love
Garrett Cooper
Look, if he is going to be batting .077 then the team might as well bring back Bobby Dalbec for the vibes.
