Finally started my new job, so I am now stuck scheduling my tweets and blogs days in advance. Keep an eye out for posts at 9am and 7pm where you can see some fun spray charts.

Overall Takeaway

I am waving the white flag on the season, and with that I want to say it was a fun ride. With the youth coming up, this team can win the World Series in the next three years. Pending they stop DOING BULLPEN GAMES.

Game 1- Red Sox 7-5

Game 2- Tigers 2-1

Game 3- Tigers 4-1

What I Loved

• Tanner Houck/Nick Pivetta

  • Houck needed a big game after getting obliterated by the Diamondacks last week. He was able to do that on Friday, and the team actually came thru for him. Still, his last 15 games he has a 1.35 WHIP. Hoping for more consistency next year.

  • Unlike Houck, Pivertta has been pretty consistent this season. Gives up a bunch of home runs, has a below average ERA, and a very solid WHIP. Saturday’s game marked the end of his FIVE game streak of giving up at least 2 HRs. A big win ! Which then turned into a loss because Tarik Skubal was amazing.

• Jarren Duran

  • He is having a Top Five season in the last 50 years in terms of WAR for a Red Sox position player. Lock him up now to a team friendly deal.

• Ceddanne Rafaela

  • Baseball-Reference is saying he has accumulated 0.0 of the “Clutch” stat. I am starting to think that stat is just imaginary.

  • That being said, I no longer think he is in the AL ROY running. Can’t justify a sub .700 OPS.

• Connor Wong

  • Wong’s power, which has never really been there, went into hiding again in August. He hit only two home runs the entire month. Thankfully, one happened this weekend. After a rough patch, he is creeping back up to an .800 OPS.

What I Was "Mid" About

• Rafael Devers

  • 1-13 across the series.

  • He has really stunk the last 15 games, and he would be down in the “didn’t love” section if it wasn’t for his shoulder injury. I am not for shutting him down right now, but in two weeks if the season looks dead, I think Cora should cut the cord.

• Triston Casas

  • Should have traded him for Vladdy Jr when they had the chance.

• Bullpen

  • One day they are blowing the game, the next they are lights out.

What I Didn't Love

• BULLPEN GAMES

  • They should be banned!
