Dean’s Corner
I have not really gone to Citi Field the past five years. However, on Monday I was dragged kicking and screaming to go watch the Red Sox play the Mets. My cousin is here from London and they wanted to see what a baseball game was like.
I knew there was nothing there for me, except pain and tragedy. I was right.
First, I battled food poisoning( Shrimp and Salmon pasta from an Irish restaurant, I deserved the pain.)
Second, I battled the traffic from the US Open. I have never met a person who actually watches tennis, so there is a real chance they were paid actors.
Third, I battle my girlfriend still arguing to get a band for our wedding, while I was sitting in traffic with cold sweats from the shrimp and salmon.
Lastly, I watched a team that can’t make routine plays in the field led by a pitcher whose arsenal includes 1.5 pitches.
Overall Takeaway
Game 1- Mets 4-1
Game 2- Mets 7-2
Game 3- Mets 8-3
What I Loved
The hot dog I had during the third inning.
It was great and I loved it. Settled my stomach after the shrimp and salmon pasta.
Tyler O’Neill’s Biceps In Person
I had to tell my fiancé to look away when Tyler came to bat. Hot diggity dog.
What I Was "Mid" About
Starting Pitching
I actually enjoyed watching Bello pitch in person and at times on Monday he looked like an ace. Crawford was great, and Houck was serviceable with a bunch of strikeouts. The pitching isn’t the reason this team just got swept. It is the lack of hitting

The definition of “Mid”
What I Didn't Love
The 3 year old kicking me during the game from behind, and the fan next to me wearing a Mets hat and Red Sox jersey
I won’t say a 3 year old should be thrown into the sun. However, an adult fan WITH A GLOVE wearing a Mets hat and Red Sox jersey belongs in the deepest circle of Dante’s Inferno.
Rafael Devers Still Playing
I spoke briefly on this last review, but I think it is time to shut down Devers. He has been struggling with his shoulder all year and just with the eye test you can tell that he is hurting.
Benching Masataka For Devers
Yeah, lets take the guy who has been playing great and sit him for the player with a shoulder that seems about to fall off. Smart move! How did that work out in the spring?
The Amount Of Double Plays
Ending three innings in a row tonight with double plays was only the tip of the iceberg. Every game was just full of them ( I am looking at you Connor Wong)
