I was lucky to have attended Game 1 of this series at Fenway myself. Here are my seats.
No big deal. Yeah, you might say it was cheap because it was the A’s, and you might be right. However, I will no longer be able to go and not sit on the field again. I am going to have to take The Skippers View to the mountaintop to make that happen.
Overall Takeaway
Game 1: Red Sox 12-9
Game 2: Athletics 5-2
Game 3: Red Sox 7-0
What I Loved
Being At Game One Myself
Look at this guy.
Rafael Devers
Disappointed that we will not be able to see him in the All-Star game
Absolutely loved seeing him and his fat cheeks in person.
He dominated Game 1 but disappeared for the rest of the series.
Masataka Yoshida
Alex Cora tried to eliminate Masataka Yoshida earlier this season. Yoshida then hit the IL after being hit by a pitch. I am not saying that Cora called in the hit on him, but I do not see any proof against it.
Yoshida has gotten hot recently and got five RBI’s this series.
Wilyer Abreu
homer machine. Give me Nick Yorke, though.
Dominic Smith
My girlfriend saw him and said, “Wow, he looks 50 years old.” She said that not me. Is she right? Kind of, but he has been playing great so he is in my loved section.
Jarren Duran
His muscles were confirmed bigger in person. Everytime he came up to bat, I showed my girlfriend a stupid meme so she wouldn’t see his muscles and start to question why my arms are so small.
Tanner Houck
They needed a starter to come out of this series and show they could dominate. Houck was able to do that in Game 3. With Bello and Pivetta being “mid,” it is time for the Front Office to start looking at starters for the trade deadline.
What I Was "Mid" About
Nick Pivetta
Getting a ton of strikeouts is great, but could we maybe stop letting the team score at the same time?
Ceddanne Rafaela
He is much smaller in person. This is concerning to me, so I put him down a section this week.
What I Didn't Love
Brayan Bello
A bunch of X accounts posted his strikeout total, making it seem like he won the game. Similar to Pivetta, getting strikeouts is great, but let's try to get outs.
