Brett Watch

For those of you who don’t know who Brett is, I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t, he is the co-founder of The Skippers View. Recently, there has been a lot of drama about his performance and content output. I figured I would give an update every few days as to how he is doing. Here you are.

Overall Takeaway

Finished writing this while my car was on full self driving. Why? Because I want to show Brett what work is.

Friday night might have been some of the worst baseball I have ever seen in my life. I thought of every way I could defenestrate myself, but I was in a basement, so it didn’t work out. To come out with a series win, albeit against the Angels again, after a sweep is a great sign. The defense however is so bad that I don’t see how the team will stay above .500.

Game 1: Angels 7-0

Game 2: Red Sox 7-2

Game 3: Red Sox 5-4

What I Loved

• Tyler O’Neil

  • He leads the league in homers, biceps, and good looks. Didn’t play Saturday so he could “get right.” Immediately homered on Sunday. I'm hoping this isn’t a 2023 Adam Duvall situation. It doesn’t seem to be so far!

• Triston Casas

  • Back-to-back days of homering. I don’t see how they are going to sign him to an extension this season. He has heated up in April and will wait for his money.

• Cora 5k Medal

  • I don’t typically talk positively about Cora. I am very hot and cold with him. But I loved the fact that he brought his 5k medal to Fenway, and now they hand it off to whoever hits a home run. It's much better than the horrible dancing they do.

• Bullpen

  • Two earned runs given up by the bullpen.

What I Was “Mid” About

• Dancing In The Dugout

  • Alright, hear me out here. I am definitely biased because I can’t and never will be able to dance. But the dance in the dugout is not only cringy, but it won’t work if this team collapses and is well below .500. Stick with the new medal celebration; I love that one.

• City Connect Uniform

  • 29-8 record in the uniform is great. Very hot take here. But I don’t love how the look. More on that on a new Boston Red Sox podcast in the works….

• Masataka Yoshida

  • Great HR today, but he is moving towards the “Don’t Love Category.” If I was a conspiracy theorist, which I am, I think they signed him in hopes of getting Yamamoto and or Ohtani. Sadly, that didn’t work out.

  • He has been getting on base still, but not in a big way.

What I Didn’t Love

• Bobby Dalbec

  • Defenestrate him.

• Kenley Jansen

  • Also defenestrate.

  • But good rebound.

• MLB TV Commercials

  • I can’t see the guy get hit by a car again. It’s depressing.

  • They are doing these weird zodiac sign commercials. The most recent was a Tommy Edman one with a weird voice talking about how he is going to come back stronger after injury cause of some astrology sign bull****.

• Defense

  • I will leave this post by a great content creator below to make my point
