23-6…enough said. It is May 2nd and the Tampa Bay Rays are 16 games above .500 owning the best record in baseball and a 3.5 game lead in the A.L. East. Peter Bendix (GM) and Kevin Cash (Manager) have this Rays team in an excellent position heading into the second month of the season. This hot start is incredible to watch and is one of the best to ever happen in major league baseball. The Rays are doing well across all facets of the game. Below are some of the teams numbers and their current rank in the MLB. As you can see, they are really good.

Team ERA - 3.10 (1st)

Team Wins - 23 (1st)

Team home runs - 61 (1st)

Team RBIs - 188 (1st)

Team hits - 282 (2nd)

Team average - .281 (1st)

Team Fielding Percentage - .990 (6th)

This team is going to be a problem for any team that has to play them. The crazy thing is star pitcher Tyler Glasnow isn’t back yet from the IL and they just lost Jeffrey Springs to Tommy John surgery as they are continuing to make mincemeat of opposition. I am jumping on the hype train for this team as they are a force. Even as a Yankees fan I am excited to watch this team as they are just so much fun to watch.

Tampa excites me as I really want to see a team who is not considered a “spender” win a World Series if my Yanks can’t! Let’s see if this hot start continues as we move into May
