As of ten minutes ago, Rafael Devers is no longer a member of the Boston Red Sox. He was traded to the San Francisco Giants for Jordan Hicks, Kyle Harrison and more according to Robert Murray and other sources.
I will update this blog as we get more information. However, for now I think it's best for me to give my gut reaction as a fan of the team.
Devers leaving officially closes the door on the Red Sox dynasty from 2004-2018. Rafael was the last player remaining, and his presence continued to give Red Sox fans hope that they could return to that same glory. Now, they are left wondering what the future holds.
