Last June, I started to collect baseball cards again. It had been 20 years since I was opening packs (primarily MLB Showdown, RIP.) This new drive to collect was partly motivated by wanting to share photos online to drive content and dive into the world of breaking to bring people into The Skippers View world.
I do not, and will never, have the personality to be a breaker. I can not pretend that a Jurikson Profar /499 auto is a banging hit. However, I still love entering breaks, collecting Hall of Fame autos, and opening the occasional new set from Topps. The place I do all of these now are Long Island Sports Cards in Albertson! This is not a store promotion, although it is amazing. Instead, it is an invitation to their new Discord server, which is run by one of the young employees at the store.
A lot of our followers came on board early last year when we were breaking and trading cards. Obviously, that is not the focus of The Skippers View as we continue to grow. So, I wanted to share this as a great opportunity for those who are joining a new community in the hobby.
Here is a quick message from Julian, who will run the Discord server.
“Hey everyone,
My local card shop, Long Island Sports Cards, has been around for almost two years now, and they have decided to expand their business into the Discord realm. On their new discord, you can buy, sell, and trade your cards. You can also interact directly with staff and the owner. LISC also runs breaks and razzes in their discord to keep the fun going in the online card community. If you’re into sports cards, you should consider joining!”- Julian.
I am already on the server and joined the latest baseball break. So, if you want to join, the link is below!
