Well, we made it.
This year was crazy in both my personal life and The Skippers View world, with job changes, a wedding, and a lawsuit. I loved it all (maybe not the lawsuit).
At the beginning of 2025, I decided to continue The Skippers View in 2026 only if I felt it was worth my time. Sorry to the haters, but I am going to continue working on The Skippers View in 2026. I was happy with the growth we had this year, both on X and the website itself.
Here are some quick numbers.
Website Clicks - 401,567
Main X Account Impressions- 28.2 million
Dean X Account Impressions- 46.7 million
All of these are increases over last year and do not include smaller accounts, such as podcast, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, which also showed growth.
Been blessed with a core group of followers for the past three years who have consistently stuck with the team and me. Over the summer, I sent an email to “Five Star” subscribers asking how they thought the year was going so far. As you can tell, changes were made throughout the year for various reasons, but primarily because I wanted to give people what they wanted—less is more sometimes.
The response was visible on my end when viewing both new and old subscribers. Email open rates are at an all-time high, and people from X who subscribe to the website are staying rather than leaving.
So, for 2026, expect to see pretty much what we have been doing—about 150 blogs from me and random ones from Brett when he decides to show up.
I will, of course, be doing Red Sox reviews every series and already have January-March planned and mostly prewritten. Starting the second week of January, I will post Top 10s for each position. This includes Top 10 prospects, Top 10 for 2026, and Top 10 all-time. They will be available every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday as we approach Spring Training.
I will likely have another blog or two go live before that, but right now my focus is on prewriting all those posts so they can come out in order.
In the meantime, thank you again for following along on this journey. Crazy to think that two years ago, I was sending out emails to four people (three of them were my other emails), and now I am interacting with thousands of MLB fans.
