Future Hall of Fame Billy Wagner Needs More Twitter Followers
Today as I sit writing a blog on the Red Sox screwing up Rafael Devers, a Billy Wagner Twitter account came across my timeline. It only had 1,051 followers and has been around for a year. On top of that, there is no profile photo. Billy Wagner, at 51, is too young to be an old man who doesn't know how to access his pictures on his phone, so I thought, "Fake account."
Then I saw three followers that piqued my interest. Ryan Thibodaux, Foolish Baseball, and Rob Bradford. So, I put out a tweet, and low and behold, Billy followed us. Now that we follow each other, I feel like I can call him Billy. I seemingly confirmed over DMS that it was, in fact, Billy.
Now I could very well be getting catfished. However, that means Thibodaux and Bradford are as well. Good company to be in if you ask me.
I thought. "Cool, future HOFer, let's give away one of his signed cards". Then I realized when we hit our Yogi Berra giveaway number, and we will have the same followers as future HOFer Billy Wagner. The 7x All-Star with a 2.31 ERA and 422 career saves. Maybe if I told my parents that I had more followers than one of their favorite Mets of all time, they would finally be proud of me. BUT I would not be. Billy Wagner DESERVES more followers, and I am bent on doing what I can to get him there.
Here is a list of some of the players I follow currently that have more followers than Wagner and barely have made an impact in the MLB.
Jazz Chisholm Jr
Triston Casas
The Oakland Athletics Team Account
So, what I will be doing is giving away a graded and signed Billy Wagner baseball card. What's the catch? GET BILLY WAGNER TOO 5,000 followers. Let's do this, people. If you retweet this article and follow Billy Wagner, you automatically enter the contest. Good luck.
