Prior to building The Skippers View, at this point, pretty much by myself with some aid from Sam, Will, and a few others. I had begun to soften on Yankee fans. I suppose not being exposed to them constantly led to me forgetting how crazy they can be. Then I started posting on X and other platforms and began to see the crazies come out of the woodwork.

Here are some of my favorite things to put on X that drive Yankee fans nuts.

Say Mike Trout Is The Best Player Of This Generation

As you can see from the post below, I have traveled down these waters before and have had to endure the worst of the Yankee fans. I will put some of my favorite replies below, but the common theme was, “Trout is a better defender!” If you follow baseball, you would know this is not true.

Tweet “Bobby Witt Jr Will Win MVP This Year”

Nothing gets the blood flowing like comparing fWAR and bWAR. In the Judge/Trout debate, I was attacked for using bWAR to compare the players. However, if you use fWAR to compare Judge and Witt Jr., you will also be attacked. On August 8th, Witt Jr became the MLB leader in fWAR. Despite Judge being murdered on Paw Patrol, they are still tied today. Below are just a few of hundreds of tweets from disgruntled Yankee fans.

Say That Babe Ruth Didn’t Exist

This was new to me, but Will from Overdue Sports showed me that there is a real theory that Babe Ruth did not exist. The following is directly from Will, so if you get annoyed by this (Yankee fans), just to after him on X.

“Babe Ruth, I think, was an actual living person, but the mythology and what they said he did is fake. There wasn’t some unicorn patrolling around hitting 500-foot HRs with a log all while housing 18 hotdogs prior to games

Physical specimens didn’t exist then, and if the quality of athletes we have now isn’t competing with the non-science, non-data-driven (or even existent, for that matter) players of the 20s, then everything I believe about sports is a lie.

I will never be convinced that the people with no information, workout/training diet information were getting better physical performance than the freaks we have today. Granted I believe the pitching was far worse as well, but I think the quality of play as a whole was.

I love the myth of Babe Ruth, just like I love Santa Claus. For all intents and purposes they might as well be one in the same.”

Bring Up Derek Jeter’s Defense

In his career, Jeter was able to accumulate Five Gold Gloves. I think it is dumb to look back at a player's career stats and say, “Well, they sucked at defense.” Frankly, the years Jeter won GG, he was right there in the mix, so I am not going to sit here and argue that.

What I find hilarious are Yankee fans who don’t actually look at the details and just insinuate defense doesn’t matter and that it is for nerds….
