“Again, I am writing this while working on the road as I travel from the wonderful Midwest to Boston, MA, the home of many beloved Skippers View writers and the team the Dodgers played this weekend.”- Will
“I debated going up to Boston and defenestrating Will after Game 2.”-Dean
Overall Takeaway
“Everyone is saying, “This TeAm SpEnT a BiLlIoN DoLlArS.” Hardly any of it is on the field right now. I’m very vocal about my opinion that the Dodgers being too banged up to compete is nonsense; they’re better than the product they’re putting out right now. But my goodness, they have four starting pitchers on the active roster right now. If you didn’t know, baseball is a team sport, and three great players will not win you 100+ games. When the money is actually on the field, it’ll show.” - Will

What Will Loved
Clutch Hitting (Kike Hernandez, he’s a baaaaaaad man)
They may not have played incredibly through the series, but there were clutch hits in every game. Game 1, the Freddie grand slam, Game 2, the Kike bomb off Kenley, and the tying RBI in the 10th.
Joint Blog
Dean and his sole West Coast writer teaming up coast-to-coast in one blog? Electric!
What Will Was Mid About
Gavin Lux
I typically enjoy raining on his parade, but he strung together another solid series at the dish. Like I mentioned last time, there are far worse players in the lineup right now for me to complain about him. I like his swing and approach right now, and I would love it if he can keep building on it and be a contributor at the bottom of the order, which so desperately needs consistent production.
Justin Wrobleski
He looked great and racked up a career-high of 5 K over 4.1 IP with 15 WHIFF. Why Dave took him out is beyond me, and it just adds to the list of reasons why I dislike him as a manager. I want to see him go longer, but this is a good building block.
The Pitching
The bullpen was solid (at times), but a Dodgers starting pitcher hasn’t recorded a quality start in nearly a month. Disgusting.
What Will Didn’t Love
Defense. Defense. Defense.
How many times will I write about the piss-poor defensive effort? Sure, we had some great plays like Outman crashing into the CF wall, but the miscommunication (more like blatant ignoring of Andy Pages) on Miguel Vargas. I guess we should go back to high school and teach the outfield priorities.
Chris Taylor
You know what I’m going to say… It’s time to hang ‘em up, Chris. At this point, he offers so little on either side of the ball that it’s time to part ways.
What Dean Loved
Brayan Bello
Alex Cora should just pull him after five innings. The guy can not get through the order a third time.
Nick Pivetta
The last 15 games have been impressive, with 95 strikeouts over 81 innings. Those are not translating into many wins, though. I'm happy to see his ball against the Dodgers, though.

Writing This Blog With Will
I probably would have written next to nothing about this series if I wasn’t doing it with Will.

Kenley Jansen going on the Mookies podcast.
They are competing this week. Do it during the offseason.
The Bullpen
Will not make it deep into the playoffs with this bullpen. They are too young and starting to show fatigue.
Getting swept.
I am sad.
