Another solid series in the second half as we say some pleasing performances across the board. I’ve been hounding my favorite team over the last few weeks but overall have been pretty pleased since the second half kicked off.
Overall Takeaway
River Ryan was awesome in his debut, Kershaw will be a great piece through the rest of the year, and Teoscar is a dog. Tough to complain about a lot when your favorite team takes down their rivals.
What I Loved
Teoscar Hernandez
Solely responsible for the Game 1 victory tallying all 3 of the Dodgers runs
River Ryan
As advertised, kid is just a competitor. While the K stuff wasn’t completely there, he got after it and was a really fun watch
Gavin Lux
The NL player of the week stays hot. Had a solid series going 4-10 as of the 5th inning of the final game. Like I mentioned last week, if he’s productive towards the bottom of the order I’ll be very excited.
What I Was Mid About
Clayton Kershaw
I was as excited as anyone for his return. I mentioned in my last blog that he was not going to be Super Man for this team. It was clear today. The WHIFFs and Ks were fantastic as he racked up 6 over 4 innings. But allowing 2 ER on 6 H is about what I expected out of the LHP.
What I Didn’t Love
Yohan Ramirez
If someone could explain to me how James Paxton was DFA’d before this clown that would be great.
Hitting With RISP
25+ LOB over 4 games is never going to cut it. They had Robbie Ray on the ropes in Game 3 and couldn’t put it away. That needs to be better.Â
The Rumors
Some of the addition rumors are scaring me. If they decide to sign Rich Hill, I will be beside myself. There is no reason to do that, I can assure Dodger Nation that Dick Mountain is not the Savior.Â
Nonetheless, another series win keeps me happy, especially over the Giants. Hoping for Flaherty and maybe Jazz come the deadline!
