I’m in a golf cart right now and waiting to start a golf outing. Some writers we have, not naming names, would use that as an excuse to do nothing for this little baseball website we have created. Not me! So, here is my All-Star vote!
I was going to write a love piece for Jarren Duran and discuss why he deserves to be in the All-Star game. However, at this point, if you don’t already know that, then you don’t know the ball. So, I figured I would show who I voted for! Yes, Jarren Duran is on here, and yes, I have voted five times a day.
Now before I go into my thoughts I will throw the finalists that were announced yesterday.
Some not so smart baseball analysts tweeted about Judge and Harper not being on this list. If you read the very small print at the bottom you will see both were the top vote getters. This means they are automatically in.
All-Star voting has been taking place since 1947. Only took a few years for it to be corrupted when Red’s fans stuffed ballots for their players in 1957.
Am I saying there is Russian or Chinese collusion here? No. But you can’t rule it out. ZERO Red Sox players are finalists. Devers, Wong, Houck, and Duran are all more than deserving. I expect at least Duran and Houck to represent when it is all said and done.
Again, I wrote this in ten minutes in a golf cart. Why? Primarily to promote the podcast episode from today. Listen and subscribe!
