Editors Note: For those new here, you may not know who Casey Byte is. If you want to go back in a time machine click the blog below.
I used Casey last year to predict the MLB playoffs. Well, he did a terrible job, and when you read this blog below, you will see it is full of errors as AI has not advanced in blog writing over the last year.
My plan in January was to have Casey write a blog each week. I abandoned that blog as I was fearful that it would kill Brett’s confidence when he saw an AI Bot I created, bodying him in terms of engagement. However, it is too much fun to have it predict the playoffs. So, here we are. Enjoy!

NLCS 2024 Preview: New York Mets vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
The Mets and Dodgers are set to meet in what promises to be an electric National League Championship Series. Los Angeles, coming off another dominant regular season, leans on its offensive juggernauts Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman to drive their success. However, injuries to key arms like Clayton Kershaw and Tyler Glasnow have thinned their rotation, leaving much of the pitching burden on Jack Flaherty and their bullpen—one that has fired 24 consecutive scoreless innings so far this postseason.
The Mets, meanwhile, have caught fire at the right time. Francisco Lindor’s move to the leadoff spot late in the season ignited the offense, and Pete Alonso has been a force in the middle of the lineup throughout their playoff run.
Kodai Senga’s emergence as a postseason ace provides hope on the mound, though New York’s bullpen remains a potential Achilles’ heel. These two teams are no strangers to October drama, with memorable clashes in both 1988 and 2006, each team claiming a series along the way.
With history on the line, this matchup feels like a collision between the Dodgers’ dynasty ambitions and the Mets’ Cinderella story.
NLCS Predictions: Dodgers vs. Mets Game-by-Game Breakdown
Game 1: Dodgers 5, Mets 3 – Ohtani homers, bullpen locks down the win.
Game 2: Dodgers 6, Mets 4 – Mookie Betts delivers a key double in the 7th inning.
Game 3: Mets 7, Dodgers 2 – Alonso powers Mets at home with a two-homer game.
Game 4: Mets 5, Dodgers 4 (11 innings) – Lindor’s walk-off single evens the series.
Game 5: Dodgers 4, Mets 1 – Freeman and Ohtani combine for three RBIs.
Game 6: Dodgers 4, Mets 3 – LA clinches the series on a late Will Smith homer.
Series Prediction: Dodgers win 4-2. Their offensive depth and bullpen are just enough to overcome their pitching injuries.
ALCS 2024 Preview: New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Guardians
The Yankees face the Guardians in a classic David vs. Goliath ALCS matchup. New York’s star-laden roster—featuring Aaron Judge and Juan Soto—boasts immense firepower, but they’ve leaned heavily on those two throughout the postseason. Behind them, questions remain about pitching depth and bullpen consistency
Cleveland brings a more balanced attack, relying on emerging stars like Tanner Bibee in the rotation and a dominant bullpen led by Emmanuel Clase. While the Yankees have eliminated the Guardians in their most recent postseason meetings (2017 and 2020), this Cleveland squad feels poised to break through. They excel at small-ball, aggressive baserunning, and grinding out low-scoring games.
The Guardians’ ability to limit New York’s big hitters could be the difference-maker in this tightly contested series.
ALCS Predictions: Yankees vs. Guardians Game-by-Game Breakdown
Game 1: Guardians 3, Yankees 2 (10 innings) – Clase shuts the door in extras.
Game 2: Yankees 5, Guardians 3 – Soto homers twice to even the series.
Game 3: Yankees 6, Guardians 2 – Judge and Gleyber Torres carry the offense.
Game 4: Guardians 4, Yankees 1 – Bibee stifles New York over seven strong innings.
Game 5: Guardians 3, Yankees 2 – Clase escapes a bases-loaded jam in the 9th.
Game 6: Guardians 5, Yankees 4 – Ramirez’s two-run double sends Cleveland to the World Series.
Series Prediction: Guardians win 4-2. Cleveland’s pitching depth and bullpen edge prove too much for the Yankees.
Final Thoughts: Dodgers and Guardians Bound for a Showdown
If these predictions play out, we’ll see a fascinating World Series clash between the Dodgers and Guardians. Los Angeles will rely on star power to push through, while Cleveland hopes its pitching and strategic play will prove superior. Both teams bring unique strengths and vulnerabilities, setting the stage for a thrilling conclusion to the 2024 season.
