Most of what you depicted I experienced the year that Barry Larkin was inducted (and the late Ron Santo). Cooperstown really is magical. For people who scoff at that, just go. We rented a canary yellow Camaro and zipped along the country side to a from Cooperstown and it was a dream. The parade was my favorite. Seeing icons up close was just unreal. But most of all, my child hood idol was right in front of me, I couldn’t resist to jump the barricade and run up and get a high five. Sorry

A few thoughts:

Cooperstown press pass … ooooh jealous!

Been there 4 times in the last 25 years … twice for Induction Weekend, one more time in generic summer, and once in the winter. Definitely bring what you need … and then not a care that anything approaching civilization is 30 minutes away.

The induction weekends are a blast, but the off-times are great to pretty much have the place to yourself (and the rest of the hardcore nerds).

I’m a fan of a certain age, and I’ll go to the autograph shows, but I won’t hound the guys in public.
