The 2025 Futures Game rosters have been revealed! With that being said, it’s time to preview every player selected among the catchers, infielders, outfielders, and pitchers. For this blog we’ll start with the American League roster, with the National League to follow shortly after.
Pitchers
Jurrangelo Cijntje - SEA No. 8
One of the most notable prospect names in all of baseball starts off the AL pitching staff. A switch-pitcher, Cijntje will get to showcase his arm from both sides against some of the best competition in the minor leagues. Through 51.2 IP, Cijntje has a 4.88 ERA with a 10.10 K/9.
Keagen Gillies - BAL
At 27-years-old this might be an odd pick to some but it’s most definitely deserving. Gillies owns a 1.15 ERA in 2025 in 26 G at the AA level. He’s racked up 8 saves as well, striking out hitters over 30% of the time. An intriguing arm to watch out of this AL bullpen.
Brody Hopkins - TBR No. 7
Hopkins is one of the most intriguing Rays prospects with a great four-pitch-mix highlighted by the fastball and slider combo. In 71.2 IP he’s tossed to a 3.64 ERA holding hitters to just a .205 BAA. The strikeout stuff is there, and it’ll be fun to see that on display in the Futures Game.
Gage Jump - ATH No. 1
The current top prospect in the Athletics system will take the bump in this year’s Futures Game. The 22-year-old left hander has lived up to expectations in 2025, with a 2.09 ERA across 73.1 IP. More recently, Jump’s ERA has shrunk down to 1.91 across 8 AA starts. Another incredible four-pitch-mix with a devastating slider.
George Klassen - LAA No. 3
After posting a 3.10 ERA in 2024, Klassen became one of the Angels most prized prospects. While his numbers haven’t stacked up to his performances last year, he still gets the nod to show his great stuff. He showcases a 70 grade fastball that can hit triple digits, with a solid changeup, curveball, and slider to pair.
Parker Messick - CLE No. 12
Since being selected in the 2nd round back in 2022, Messick has been one of the best pitching prospects in the Guardians organization. He gets the nod to the Futures Game after posting a 3.71 ERA in 15 starts, with a 28.1% K%. Messick’s another stud left hander in this class, with a great changeup, and at 24, may be up to help Cleveland shortly after this performance.
Frank Mozzicato - KCR No. 11
After Caglianone’s big league callup this is the nod from the Royals. Mozzicato since being a 2021 first round selection has been progressing slowly through the system. A 22-year-old left hander with a phenomenal curveball, he’s a tough pitcher to hit posting a .205 BAA and holding hitters to a .225 BABIP.
Alimber Santa - HOU No. 29
Maybe not the first name many would think to get the nod, Santa has been lights out from the bullpen in 2025. In 49.2 IP he’s posted a 1.27 ERA, striking out hitters at a 25.1% clip while holding them to a .192 BAA. Dominant, and well deserving of being showcased on a stage like the Futures Game.
Noah Schultz - CWS No. 1
The White Sox go with their top prospect this year and with Schultz in AAA, there probably won’t be another opportunity for him. While his numbers haven’t been jaw-dropping this year, he has unbelievable stuff to showcase with a 60 grade fastball and an even better 70 grade slider. The pitch mix will be a real test of some of the minor leagues best hitters.
Trey Yesavage - TOR No. 2
Yesavage rounds out the staff here and for very good reason. He’s flown through the Blue Jays system in just his first pro season. He’s been near unhittable all year, with a 2.45 ERA in 62.1 IP, holding hitters to a .136 BAA with a 0.90 WHIP. Hitters in this Futures Game will struggle with the fastball and slider, but then there’s the splitter that matches up just as well that you have to account for with the Toronto RHP.
Infielders
Kaelen Culpepper - MIN No. 4
Culpepper earns the nod here after standing out in a big way during his first full professional season. He’s currently slashing .290/.382/.476 across two levels with 11 HR’s and 16 SB’s. A great all around infielder that’s been in the spotlight since his time at Kansas State.
CJ Kayfus - CLE No. 5
Kayfus has been one of the best hitters across any level in the minor leagues this year. He currently has a .988 OPS and is banging on the door to the MLB after reaching AAA-Columbus. 11 HR’s & 15 2B’s on the year so far, Kayfus is a name to know for the rest of the season, and he deservedly gets a nod here.
George Lombard Jr. - NYY No. 1
20-year-old George Lombard Jr. shot himself into the spotlight even more this year after a phenomenal start with High-A Hudson Valley. A .983 OPS at that level solidified him as the Yankees top prospect, and earned him a promotion to AA. A true potential 5-tool-talent for the Yankees in the infield, he’ll be arguably the most watched prospect at this game.
Brice Matthews - HOU No. 1
Houston adds their top prospect here after he’s posted a .895 OPS for Sugar Land at AAA. 10 HR’s and 23 SB’s so far, Matthews has that potential to be a 20/20 guy at the next level, in an infield with Jeremy Pena and Cam Smith. Watch for the speed with a guy like Matthews, but the tools across the board are all great.
Kevin McGonigle - DET No. 2
One of if not the best hitter in all of minor league baseball right now gets a nod in the infield. The 65 grade hit tool has lived up to the hype as he’s slashed .357/.440/.643 with 7 HR’s and 20 2B’s. He can flat out hit the ball better than most, and shows plus speed as well on the basepaths.
Sebastian Walcott - TEX No. 1
One of the most intriguing prospects in all of baseball gets the nod to this Futures Game. While he’s OPS’d just .744 so far in AA this year, remember Walcott is just 19-years-old. This kid is far ahead of so many his age and the tools he displays are special. 65 grade power to pair with a 70 grade arm at shortstop screams franchise shortstop, and he’ll be on full display All Star weekend.
Tommy White - ATH No. 6
2024 second rounder Tommy White gets the nod after the LSU alum has posted an .853 OPS in High-A Lansing. White’s currently slugging .505 with 9 HR’s and 16 2B’s. Fans know what to expect with him, as the 60 grade power has been on national display since his time back in college.
Outfielders
Enrique Bradfield Jr. - BAL No. 2
Bradfield is another college star that is back in the national spotlight for the Futures Game. There’s arguably nobody better to put in CF for the AL, as Bradfield possesses an 80 grade run tool from MLB Pipeline. For that alone, he’ll be incredibly fun to watch in the field in this one.
Max Clark - DET No. 1
Clark has continued to improve in his young pro career so far. He’s posted an .836 OPS so far through the first half, with 18 extra-base-hits and 12 SB’s. He has one of the brightest personalities in minor league baseball, making giving him a spot in this game a must. His 70 grade speed is also a must-watch.
Jhostynxon Garcia - BOS No. 5
The Password gets the nod here after much of the Red Sox young core has gotten its call up to the majors. Garcia now in AAA has been incredible this year with an .845 OPS and 12 HR’s. His plus power and great arm from the outfield are tools to watch for, as we get to know another stud Red Sox prospect.
Lazaro Montes - SEA No. 2
Montes has been another one of the best offensive players in the minor leagues this year. A .970 OPS with 21 HR’s already, the 65 grade power has been on full display, and will now be seen nationally in the Futures Game.
Braden Montgomery - CWS No. 4
Montgomery gets the nod after posting an OPS north of .800 across two levels. A highlight of the Garrett Crochet trade, Montgomery is a very intriguing switch hitting prospect that will be able to showcase his plus power and 70 grade arm out in the outfield.
Catchers
Josue Briceno - DET No. 4
Briceno has taken his production to another level in 2025, with an OPS nearly at 1.000 on July 1st. He’s clubbed 14 HR’s and 11 2B’s so far and has been slugging at a near .600 clip. A solid all around catching prospect, Briceno’s power will be something to watch closely for in this Futures Game.
Harry Ford - SEA No. 5
Ford gets a very well deserved nod after hitting over .300 so far for Tacoma in AAA. Seattle’s 2021 first round selection has shown great tools across the board his whole career, but his plus speed as a catcher is something that is very intriguing. Ford is one to watch closely as he should be impacting the Mariners at the big league level here soon.
Carter Jensen - KCR No. 3
Jensen rounds out the AL roster here as the final catcher. He hit for an AVG of over .290 in AA before earning a AAA callup, and the nod to the Futures Game. Jensen can flash plus power from the left handed batters box as well as a solid arm behind the plate. In a catching tandem with Briceno and Ford, Jensen is a great addition to the room.
