Over the past few days I have started posting re-drafts of previous Top 10 picks. I have been doing this in conjunction with my Top 10 players by position. It has led to a lot of discourse across my X pages. I have had some fans DMing the main account calling for “Dean” to be fired.
I tell them I agree and thank them for their engagement.
On my personal account, I have had many people calling for me to hang up my journalist career and move on to something else. It is clear that we have hit that point in the offseason where fans are just rabid for anything and are ready to go on the attack at any moment.
Meanwhile, I have been posting the Top 10s during my morning and evening bathroom sit downs. (Poops)
I figured I would start taking advantage of all the engagement and put today’s into blog form as well.
Feel free to attack me.
1. Roman Anthony — Baltimore Orioles
Original pick: 2022 Draft — Boston Red Sox — Round 2C, 79th overall
MLB career stats (through 2025): 71 G, 257 AB, .292/.396/.463 (.859 OPS), 8 HR, 32 RBI, 4 SB, 3.1 WAR
My Thoughts: Obviously, this is a biased selection as I am a Red Sox fan. We only saw about half a season of Anthony in 2025, but it was all majestic. Still only 21 years old and showing true five-tool potential, any team would love to have him.
2. Zach Neto — Arizona Dimaondbacks
Original pick: 2022 Draft — Los Angeles Angels — 1st Round (overall pick shown on MLB player bio)
MLB career stats (through 2025): 367 G, 1333 AB, .247/.316/.440 (.756 OPS), 58 HR, 173 RBI, 61 SB
My Thoughts: If you are going off of production I guess you would have to put Neto 1st on this list. But he has over 1300 ABs already which is more than double most of the players on this list. So, I am putting him here at #2. However, if he puts up a third consecutive season of 5 bWAR, I might have to put him up one.
3. Jackson Holliday — Texas Rangers
Original pick: 2022 Draft — Baltimore Orioles — 1st overall
MLB career stats (through 2025): .229 AVG, 22 HR, 78 RBI (career totals shown)
My Thoughts: Jackson Holliday is still so young (just turned 22), that I feel like it would be unfair to drop him off this list. He showed some promise in 2025, but 2026 will be his last chance in my eyes to remain in the Top 5 on a list like this.
4. Drake Baldwin — Pittsburgh Pirates
Original pick: 2022 Draft — Atlanta Braves — 3rd Round, 96th overall
MLB career stats (through 2025): 124 G, 405 AB, .274/.341/.469 (.810 OPS), 19 HR, 80 RBI, 3.3 WAR
My Thoughts: To be honest, I don’t think my brain ever really thought about Drake Baldwin last season. The Braves were irrelevant most of the season, so I never really gave them much thought. It wasn’t until the other day when Braves fans were ready to crucify me for not having Baldwin high on my “Top 10 Catchers” that I looked deeper into his numbers. He will be 25 when this season starts, so not definetly one of the older on this list, but can not deny his offenseive production at a weak position.
5. Nolan McLean — Washington Nationals
Original pick: Drafted in 2023 — New York Mets — 3rd Round, 91st overall
MLB career stats (through 2025): 8 GP (8 GS), 5–1, 2.06 ERA, 48.0 IP, 57 K, 1.04 WHIP, 1.8 WAR
My Thoughts: Feel like Mets fans just need to see someone giving their players some love.
Here you go Mets fans, savor it, because this season is going to be brutal for you.
6. Spencer Jones — Miami Marlins
Original pick: 2022 Draft — New York Yankees — 1st Round, 25th overall
MLB career stats (through 2025): Well…. None.
My Thoughts: Strictly going off eye test here and the fact that he is a 6’6 greek god who could potentially go 30/30.
7. Jacob Misiorowski — Chicago Cubs
Original pick: 2022 Draft — Milwaukee Brewers — 2nd Round, 63rd overall
MLB career stats (through 2025): 15 GP (14 GS), 5–3, 4.36 ERA, 66.0 IP, 87 K, 1.24 WHIP, 0.5 WAR
My Thoughts: Let me start by saying the fact that Misiorowski was an All-Star last year should never be forgotten. MLB should have launched a full investigation into how that was allowed to happen. That being said, he has nasty stuff and loves Pokemon, so he breaks into my Top 10 here.
8. Cam Schlittler — Minnesota Twins
Original pick: 2022 Draft — New York Yankees — 7th Round, 220th overall
MLB career stats (through 2025): 14 GP (14 GS), 4–3, 2.96 ERA, 73.0 IP, 84 K, 1.22 WHIP, 2.0 WAR
2025 Postseason : 14.1 IP, 1.26 ERA, 14 K, 0 BB
My Thoughts: Yankee fans are probably convulsing in anger as they read this. However, Schlittler was very “lucky” in 2025 when you look at the analytics. He needs to get more guys to Whiff in 2026 because they started to hit him hard. His xERA was 4.10, where as Misiorowski for example was 3.36.
9. Chase DeLauter — Kansas City Royals
Original pick: 2022 Draft — Cleveland Guardians — 1st Round (postseason MLB debut; no regular-season MLB games noted)
MLB career stats (through 2025): Postseason only — 2 G, 6 AB, .167/.286/.167 (.452 OPS)
My Thoughts: DeLauter is still a Top 75 prospect in all of baseball, so lets see if he does anything in 2026.
10. Jakob Marsee — Colorado Rockies
Original pick: 2022 Draft — San Diego Padres — 6th Round, 180th overall
MLB career stats (through 2025): 55 G, 209 AB, .292/.363/.478 (.842 OPS), 5 HR, 33 RBI, 14 SB, 1.9 WAR
My Thoughts: I kind of just looked for someone who already was playing in MLB and put up some numbers. Marsee fit that.
